There are some recipes you come back to, month after month, year after year. You’ve perfected them, they are comforting and homey or sometimes just plain easy. But for whatever reason, they may somehow fall out of that regular recipe rotation. You might get sick of them. When I was a child, we had pancakes every Saturday morning. They were great–until they weren’t. When I went away to college, there was a good 5-6 years where I wanted nothing to do with pancakes, then gradually I welcomed them back into my life. Then there are recipes that slip through the cracks and you just forget about. Like Crockpot Chicken.

Move Over Shake ‘n Bake

I’m a huge fan on ways to make cooking easier. A gadget or technique that can help make dinner in 1 hour rather than 2? Love it! What I’, not a fan of is speedy fixes that cost a lot and can be done on your own. Like Shake ‘n Bake. A package of seasoning, dumped into a bag. Add your chicken, shake, shake, shake, bake and you’re done.

I Forgot How Delicious Dieting Could Be

Ginger Lime Chicken Over Mixed Greens

I might have overindulged a little a lot over Thanksgiving. But I can guarantee I’m not the only one. Go ahead, fess up!  I haven’t been to the gym in over a week and feel pretty sluggish. I know I need to get healthier but needed something to jump start my health kick. Answer? “Look Better Naked Two Day Cleanse”. It’s not meant to be followed long term, but just something motivate you with quick results. Not the most local menu but you can always add your own twists. Local milk smoothie and if I was more motivated this summer I could have used local frozen berries instead of the organic ones I bought. Local greens are still pretty easy to find and so it the produce. The biggest problem is the cucumbers and asparagus, but for two days I’ll cope.
